Yes, some people with SMM are exploring curcumin — the active compound in turmeric — as a way to potentially slow progression. A small 2010 trial did find that curcumin reduced markers of disease severity, which is encouraging.

A more recent study also looked at curcumin combined with piperine (found in black pepper, which helps absorption) to see if it could delay progression from SMM to myeloma. That said, the evidence is still early-stage and not yet strong enough for it to be a standard recommendation. A few important things to keep in mind:

- "Natural" doesn't always mean risk-free, especially during myeloma treatment
- Curcumin can interact with certain medications
- Dosing matters — high doses carry their own considerations
- Always check with your care team before starting any supplement

It's definitely worth bringing up with your doctor, who can help weigh the potential benefits against any risks specific to your situation.

I am not a fan of supplements and and most cases consider them snake oil. But I do believe if people believe they will cure them there could be a placebo effect. Just like I believe in a placebo effect from religious faith. But I am not expert and this is just my opinion.
