My medical team wants me to do that after 4 to 6 cycles of treatment. For note I do have Light Chains Deposition Disease (LCDD) also. I was diagnosed 11 years ago and have been on watch and wait and my last bone marrow biopsy was still under 10 in November. But I Oncologist thinks it's the best course of action as does the Bone Marrow doctor I met with due to my age 57 and health being good. I'm conflicted, so wanted to see if anyone else was advised this or went ahead and did it. Thanks

I was diagnosed with stage 3 high risk Lambda light chains MM in March '24 at age 67 and was told I needed an SCT ASAP, I turned it down and here I am 2 years later still asymptomatic and tolerating maintenance well. In remission 3 months into treatment.
Terry,
Your eGRF numbers are low. I always ask the doctor “What is a concerning number for this test?” Mine have been around 59-60, then I changed my diet and started taking supplements seriously and it went to 87! I highly recommend Dr Brandy’s book “Beat Back Cancer Naturally.

I did it and I am glad that I did. It is not a cure but it will diffidently keep you in remission a lot longer.
Hi Paula, my LCCD is Kappa, before I started treatment in January my Kappa Light Chain, Free was 326 and the last time they checked it in March it was 108, so it's definitely going in the right direction. My GFR for my kidneys has hovered in the mid 40's for 9 years, never going below 40, last week it was at 52, so another positive. I've been told though by my Nephrologist that the GFR is not always an accurate sign of kidney health. He said a 24 hr. urine collection is the best way to determine kidney health. When I first was diagnosed he had me do one every year and even though the GFR was in the 40's, he stated my kidney health was actually at 100% based on the 24hr collection. He told me I didn't need to see him yearly anymore unless it declines.
Terry,
Maybe that’s why. Is your LCCD Kappa?
