Hi Joan, Are you on any level of maintenance drugs for MM? Even the smallest amount of Revlimid for maintenance will cause fatigue and shortness of breath in some people. I found once I gave up all my MM drugs, my fatigue and other drug symptoms disappeared in a week. Having been grouped as low risk, and being on MM drugs for 34 months, and was just entering the most Stringent Complete Response (sCR) phase - Light chains normal, no M-spike and only a few cells per million in my bone marrow, my oncologist agreed I could take a break from treatment.

An option to discuss with your GP is low dose Ritalin.

Going back, 3-1/2 years, During a 2 year period, when I taking Oxycodone (5mg 4x daily max) for my neuropathy, my fatigue was very significant. At that point we added 10mg Ritalin 3x daily. This helped significantly.

Around 18 months ago, when I completely stopped all Oxycodone and opiates (Xtampza and Tylenol with Codeine), I requested to drop the Ritalin down to 5mg 4x daily (as needed).

There’s also a health benefit to Ritalin - it increases our DHEA Hormone. This is something that we lose as we age and it’s known that MM Treatments, like Dexamethasone, Will Reduce our DHEA.

I’m 72 and I’ve been taking Ritalin for 3-1/2 years. Since I’m off all MM Meds and aided with my Diet, Supplements and Exercise, my Labs remain excellent.

Ritalin helps me with energy and focus and hasn’t affected any of my Labs.

Good answers, all. I think it will take time for your 'oomph' to come back after all your body has been through, and that in itself is probably reason enough to continue to feel fatigued.

For sure you’ll need to be off Maintenance and then work on rebuilding your Immune System

BRM4, 5 Defenses Mushrooms, and others can boost your Immune System and CBCs
