Has anyone had only Darzalex Faspro and Dexamethsone as a first line of treatment? (I've read about the AQUILA trials but that did not include dex.) My wife just crossed over into MM but has no symptoms. She's had negative reactions to prednisone and is anxious about the impact of Dex, even at a starting dose of 20mg. Thanks.
.I'll try to make this short and snappy. First, what reactions has she had with the prednisone? After doing a little research, I found out that steroids fall into 4 categories. Prednisone and Dexamethasone are in 2 different categories. The reactions you get are generally between drugs in the same category, not in different categories. So she might just be fine on the Dex. This is certainly a topic she should discuss with her MM specialist, don't take my word for it, this is just from some research I've done. I take Darzalex, with Dex along with Velcade and Revlimid, I've not had a bad reaction to Prednisone and so far, so good, with the Dexamethasone. Have a super Sunday! 🍂
