They will / should do an echocardiogram prior to giving you Kyprolis. Also, if you start having chest pains, shortness of breath, or any other symptoms of heart disease communicate immediately with your doctor.

Kyprolis is known to cause or worsen existing heart problems. Patients are at a higher risk of developing cardiac issues if they are:

75 years or older.

Have pre-existing heart failure or other cardiac conditions.

Have a history of high blood pressure, which Kyprolis can also increase.

Yes, I did not respond well to Revlimid Velcade and dexamethasone. So they tried me on Kyprolis , Pomalyst and dexamethasone. Sadly, it did not work for me at all. My specialist wasn't expecting it not to work. 😒So, I had mobilization with Cytoxan. I don't want that again. I got sepsis with that. I was able to collect stem cells 3 weeks after that. Then I was stated on Darzalex Pomalyst and Prednisone in October 2017. I had a stem cel transplant December 2017. I was started back on Darzalex, Pomalyst and dexamethasone 78 days after my transplant. Eight years later I'm still on Darzalex and Pomalyst. So, long story short, don't despair. I hope you get a great response. It does work well for many people.
