Getting a second opinion is key. Confidant doctors welcome second opinions. My M Spike is 0.6 but my bad plasma is 10%. I am Smoldering.

Unfortunately, that is too simplistic. Your Hematologist/Oncologist should be a MM Specialist, if not ask for a second opinion. My calcium levels were too high when I had MGUS, but I had no other issues. You need a bone marrow biopsy to see what type you have. I have translocation (14:16) with 16q deletion, Monosomy 13 and +5. You need to know how high your M Spike is. Then you look at “CRAB” C for Calcium, R for renal (kidneys) A for Anemia and B for bones. My first 2 Oncologists did not understand MM. When I started to know more than they did, I got worried and joined this group. I was then told how important it was to have a MM Specialist.

Interesting, I always feel I was wrongly diagnosed with MM in March '24 asymptomatic with low calcium levels to date. I take calcium supplements because my calcium levels are so low. I will be changing to Stanford next January because I am not sure I am getting the best treatment for my condition.
