@A MyMyelomaTeam Member, ironically, my back was giving me the blues today. I wear a back brace and sit in a chair to cook. I try to remember to stretch my back due to already bad discs and bulging discs. What many have said is to do less in pain and more on good days. For example, I cook for 2 days, and I freeze food. I suggest a lot of oven cooking. I cook fish and chicken sometimes at the same time, fish under the chicken. Broccoli, rice, and chicken, etc. I don't cook a lot on the stove. I stopped that years ago, but when I do it's spaghetti, chili, etc., and yes, I cook those as 2 meals. I could be a food supply company. When you get any meat, cook it in the form of 2 different meals and have one for another day, or freeze it. My husband knows how to cook but prefers my cooking, and so do I, but now that I can't eat the way we used to, he professes he can't cook healthy. My healthy cooking allowed us both to lose 25lbs pre SCT. No sugar, only date syrup. Good luck, but please try to stretch your back( lean forward while sitting) (Go to a PT, mine was $48 twice a week)), ask for a brace (don't use it all the time,it weakens back muscles).

Crockpots and Air fryer are so much helpful in my cooking. Only me now so I have enough for 3 days.

I see a lot of back pain responses. Has anyone tried applying a heat pad to their back?

Sunbeam sells a full back, shoulder and neck electric heat pad.

I've been using it since initial diagnosis 9 years ago. Yes. Back pain since.
I use it before bed for 30 minutes. And sip on chamomile tea.
It really helps to relieve my back pain and the tea relaxes.

I forgot to mention that I use a TENS unit when needed.
It helps too.

Hello Angie, My wife said that if I wanted to continue eating, I would have to step up to the cooking and yes I am cooking a lot more and still eating. My problem is that I have to plan on what I want to cook and then make sure that I shop for the ingredients. Yes we have come to a working compromise and the one who hates cooking is a lot happier. Life is good when everyone is happy. I am camping on the coast in a week and my friend Constance likes me to do all the cooking so I am shopping today and watching the weather. Best wishes. 👨‍✈️

As much as I love cooking, I find that I cook enough for several meals and use them as I need them. Walmart has turkey breasts for $12.00 and lasts for at least 3 days with sandwiches in between. I also add small gold potato's to cook at the same time. I am cooking chili today in my crock pot that will cover 3 meals. There is always omelet with cheese and mushrooms when I don't feel like making a big deal. Kroger has $6.00 roasted chicken on Thursday and I have it for several days and lunch. There are many ways to stretch out the fun of cooking. I love my crock pot. Have a happy day. Best wishes. 👨‍✈️
