It started 3 days after taking Lenalidomide, had a Ex Ray showed nothing, went to foot doctor today and he ordered a Ultasound, no blood clot. Foot doctor said maybe a cortisone shot but not really sure it would help. On August 28 that will be my last day of taking pills. I am on 14 days on 14 days off.
I had a full year of swelling while on Revlimid. Swelled feet, swelled lip, swelled face, etc. Was constantly on prednisone, and then when I finished the prednisone, would get the swelling again. Finally determined I had de eloped an allergy to Revlimid after taking it for over 4 years. Quit taking it.
Thanks for answering Vicky I was trying to send a picture of what my ankle looked like I guess my oncologist didn't see it my way I sent her a text and said don't you think I need a ultrasound on my ankle and she said through text absolutely not so I was still not walking very well and I went to a foot doctor and within 5 minutes he said you need an ultrasound right away I think it's a blood clot so I don't know I don't think it's my insurance if she switched this medicine around she always tells me I have the most wonderful insurance I think it's just she just plays Hardball with me and we just don't see eye to eye I thought when you have problems you're supposed to call your medical doctor if there looks like there's an emergency

Hi Jeanette,
I am so sorry Dr. Reddy’s is having this effect on you. Maybe trying Lenolidamide from another manufacturer should be considered. Other than the brand Revlimid, my best experience was with Sun Pharma. The only problem is I was only able to get it one time which is why I took Dr. Reddy’s. Do you know if your insurance will cover the brand Revlimid?
I don't know if I mentioned ankle swelling in my previous posts. I probably didn't since I don't get it as much since I have become more active. When I told my doctor about the swelling in both legs, he told me to keep my feet up. At that time I was still bed bound. So, I purchased some compression socks to prevent the possibility of blood clots. They were OK, however I didn’t care for having tight socks on my legs and toes all of the time.
After I wasn’t bed bound any longer, I purchased an under-the-desk mini bike to rebuild the strength in my legs. That also helped with the swelling since it increased the blood flow in my legs as well.
At first I had it in my living room parked at the love seat. I would drive my electric wheelchair to it and speed 5 – 30 minutes on it everyday. After I regained my ability to walk again, my husband moved it into the bathroom. This type of bike is great for light exercise to maintain good health. They are heavy though. So, you don’t want to put it in a place where it will need to be moved constantly. I hope this swelling is temporary and improves soon. 😞

While swelling can be concerning, it's important to note that you've already taken important steps by getting an X-ray and ultrasound to rule out blood clots. This was especially crucial since Lenalidomide can increase the risk of blood clots, so it's good that you sought immediate medical attention.

Jeanette and *Group Members*,
Keep us up-to-date on how you are doing.
Also, I wanted to let you know the "Patient Advocate Foundation" grant for $7500 is open again. This is how I pay for my insurance premiums. If you feel well enough, apply for it as soon as you can. It doesn't stay open long.
