My husband is admitted to Ogden regional hospital because of blood clots as of today

Here are key warning signs of blood clots to watch for:
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain with deep breathing
- Rapid breathing
- Increased heart rate
- Coughing (sometimes with blood)
- Feeling anxious or sense of dread
- Light-headedness and sweating There are several preventive measures that can help reduce blood clot risk:
- Taking prescribed anticoagulation medications
- Using support hose (graduated compression stockings)
- Using mechanical foot pumps
- Taking heparin or low-dose aspirin when on certain treatments
- Following doctor's recommendations, especially during hospital stays

Be sure to discuss these prevention strategies with your husband's healthcare team while he's in the hospital.

Rebekah, my husband had a blood clot in his calf. He was on an injectable blood thinner for about six months before being placed on eliquis. No more problems since.

Rebekah,
I have IgA Kappa. Being IgA is a higher risk of blood clots. I try to take Vitamin E complex to thin my blood. Your husband can’t do that now, since he is being treated, but maybe later? Or low dose Aspirin. Blood clots can be very painful. I’m sorry you are both going through this.💕

Rebekah, My husband had blood clots 2 or 4 times during his MM journey. I don't recall him being hospitalized for them but he was on Lovenox injections at home to treat them. I too always wondered what caused them , but it always seemed to come back to chemotherapy. Sending prayers to both of you.
