March, I also worked around radiation. I worked on a unit that had patients with radioactive implants. I don't know if it was the cause of mine.

Inherited Predisposition:

No, there is no carrier gene for myeloma, that I have ever read about. Which gene are you referring to? Myeloma clones can carry tumor suppresor gene that can make our myeloma harder to treat. But these genes are genes our myeloma cells acquire over time. They are not genes we are born with. My sister and I did see a genetic specialist. I have myeloma, and she has MGUS. They didn't find anything. We both carry the trait for Faconi anemia, which is another blood disorder. It's interesting, but it shouldn't cause myeloma.
