Members living with multiple myeloma shared a wide range of strategies for managing nighttime muscle cramps and spasms. Several members found magnesium glycinate, pickle juice, mustard, tonic water with quinine, CoQ10, potassium supplements, and bananas to be effective, while others relied on prescribed medications like gabapentin, pregabalin, or muscle relaxers. A recurring theme was the importance of staying well hydrated with electrolytes, walking to relieve active cramps, and always checking with a doctor before starting new supplements.

It worked for while now on cycle 6 I realized that days 11,12,13 on the 25ml lenalidomide is knocking me down as much as 72 hours of bed time. Don’t want to eat and short of breath. The cramps are from Hell from the Revlimid shots. The doctors know what it’s doing. It’s no surprise to them. I’ve realized now after 3 times on chemo since 2011 and after 12 weeks of radiation 5 days a week. They just pacify you and keep pouring in the poison. U just have to grin and bear it. Keep what I’ve said in mind and tell me if I’m wrong! I
I’m complaining but not really. If it wasn’t for the poison I wouldn’t be here. So far it’s given me till this point 14 years. I’m shooting for another 10 with this MM. Two times lung cancer with 40% of one lung removed and 1 skin cancer, now MM. I’m telling you my experience and view of the whole thing. Everyone is different. Oh! The first two times they told me to shave my hair that I’d lose it all and also lose 20 lbs. I gained 30lbs and kept my hair. Good Luck All! I hope my experience will help any one of you!
Best to all!!!!!

My doctor says that the lenalidomide (Revlimid) causes muscle cramps. I take 10 mg, two weeks on, two weeks off. I have noticed I mainly get the cramps when taking it. Mine vary in location from hips to legs and my second toe on my left foot will do this crazy thing were it suddenly turns down and I have to physically straighten it back out. That one doesn't hurt too bad it is just really strange. I have to walk around or stretch to get rid of the rest of the spasms so it is inconvenient when it happens in the middle of the night. My primary care doctor had told me that for muscle cramps to take mustard and it should work in 20 seconds.

I’ve tried pickle juice, it’s worked for me! Also, keeping hydrated. When you get tired of water, try popsicles!
