Has anyone had nerve ablation for back pain?
Ask the Doc about how long it will last. I’ve heard maybe a year +/-
Also ask about risks. Easy enough to do web searches. I rejected the idea over 2-1/2 years ago. I had one cortisone shot at my L4 nerve that was very uncomfortable and only lasted 3 weeks.
The ablation was their suggested next step. When I looked into it then, I decided not.
Dawn, that is what was suggested for me too. From what I was told it is only temporary. My gut told me not to do it. Everyone is different so you will have to way the pros and cons. Let me know what you decide. This back pain is no fun. Wishing you the best!
I have been toying with doing it, but am a chicken. I have gotten several cortisone shots (epidurals) in my lower back, but I know it’s bad for your bones.
