Best advice is to stay positive, listen to what your nurse tells you, yes you May experience a few bad days but as my doctor told me don’t just sit in a chair or your bed get up and move around, it helps and EAT even if it’s only a piece of toast you have to eat, I’m coming up on 11 years since I had mine, I was fortunate I had a high tolerance didn’t feel bad at all, all of my levels were down to .01, nice sunny day my wife and I went out side for a walk any issues I had was not due to the drugs my port got infected
You will be fine !!!!

I did the ASCT last year May 23 for 2 weeks at age almost 72. If I remember you are 70ish now and in good shape. You will be fine. Remember the sick feeling and reactions you’ll have are normal and it means the treatment is working. There is only 3 days where you feel like crapola. And in your 100 day recovery period you will bounce back with ease. To help others please post details every day of what you’re going through! We will be here!

Hi Rennie. I think these regular tests are very important ,blood count (CBC), protein electrophoresis, Serum Creatinine, lactic acid dehydrogenase (LDH), Lipid profile, Vitamin D3, B12,Uric acid band, Blood sugar test and a few others as your doctors may advise from time to time. However regular CBC remains very important and you can do it whenever you feel changes in your body.

I had SCT transplant 7-8-22 all outpatient. I did end up in the hospital afterwards for 5 days. The 100 day recovery was great. Everyones’s experience will be different. Good luck.
