I was diagnosed seven years ago with smoldering myeloma. Didn't advise treatment until three years later when I had disc lessons. Been talking treatment for the last five years and told I would have to take treatment the rest o my life. I'm eighty years old now doing pretty good. Just got back from a two weeks cruise vacation. Hopefully this helps.
Neither do I, lucky I'm going on 4 years and still holding at SMM. I wonder what will happen if it changes to MM, what treatment will I have to do and etc. but I figured why worry now, that won't change anything. So I just go day by day, work around the house and etc, if it changes then I'll see what the MD wants me to do, and hopefully still don't worry.
I would give it a chance if I have to. I just don't know what to expect from it.
A lot of people on this website have MM and follow the MD treatments. Seen people on here going on 10 to 15 years with treatment. Give the MD a chance, if not for you then for your family. I hope you make the right decision, good luck and prayers.
I have had symptoms for years but I have been told to come back in 3 to 6 months so I might just disregard treatment altogether and either cure myself or slowly cease to exist.
