The first time they administer Darzalex, they watch you for any reactions the first and second time you receive it. Second time is a few hours less. This is whether they use the IV or the injection in the stomach. I had it 16 times before my SCT and just had my 7th maintenance treatment with it. Yes, they had to watch me again the first and second times on maintenance, but it wasn’t that many hours.
He might doze off from the premeds that they give, so I would use this time to get some fresh air or bring back some food and treats, Bring things you can enjoy together to pass the time. Both of you might want to use this time to catch up on your reading.
I have not had any reactions in all my treatments and pray he does not either.
You will be surprised at how quickly the time will actually go by.

Hum, sounds like he is getting a multi hour infusion. I hope not and I have no experience with that. I get Darzalex Faspro which is a 5 minute shot in the stomach. In fact I get my next treatment Wednesday. I have been on it for 9 months and have had zero issues or side effects.
I would ask your doctor about the Faspro injection. It is so much better.
Good luck and I hope it goes well.

I wanted to ask you did the darzalex cause you to have diarrhea?? That is the only thing that has been added to my regime treatment and I've noticed that this issue has developed. For over a year I was fighting the other problem of constipation. Now suddenly it's the other way around. I've heard many on here that had or has horrible diarrhea with Revlimid. I take Revlimid every day by mouth so I'm not sure if it is suddenly changing my system or is it the darzalex? Just wondering what your experience was. Thanks so much

I just started Darzalex Faspro about a month ago which is a shot injected for 5 minutes. I will say the shot isn't pleasant but compared to other things it's nothing. Im a small person with not alot of meat on my bones. The nurses always say that it hurts less if you have more fat on you so to speak. I take the pre meds which is 2 tylenol, 1 benadryl, 5 steroids. I wait about 45 minutes to an hour and then they give me the shot. I wait another hour for any reaction and then I'm released. If I'm also there for bone infusion or any other chemo drugs, that takes extra time but no more than 1- 1/2 hours. Good luck

I get diarrhea with Darzalex Fastpro injections. Usually the third and fourth day after treatment.
