So far , I take one 325 aspirin a day! I’m on Revilmid and have no issues with clots so far.
Hi Cheryl. I take Eliquis 2.5 MG. Once a day. I was on it twice a day but started to leak blood from my PD cathedral that I do my dialysis with. Growing old is not for sissy. LAPCORP got enough blood from a deep vein and they are sending the results to my Doctor and see what she says. I thank you for your answer though. It is very much appreciated.😇
Ok, that helps me understand. Weird it's clotting now. Hope you get answers soon. Please update when you find out.
Glad you're enjoying the weather, sounds like you've been active!
Getting ready to do some light gardening, that's a hobby of mine, helps to get fresh air and activity, spend some time with my animals outdoors, too. 🕊️🙏❤️🕯️
Hi CherylS. When I started taking Eliquis it was 5MG twice a day. I had a PD catheter put in so I can do PD dialysis. I stated leaking blood for that pretty bad, so they reduced me to 2.5 MG twice a day and I still was leaking blood from the catheter and so i went to once a day and take a 81 MG of aspirin with it. That has been going good for over 20 months. Then when I went for my monthly nephrology visit, they went to draw labs and the blood was clotting in the syringe and the needle which was very odd. They recommend that I talk to my cancer doctor about this, so she had me go get another blood draw, so I went to labcorp and she had to go to a bigger deeper vain to get the blood to not clot while drawing it. I go to UT Southwestern for my SMM and see DR. Kaur. Let's see what new. Goin to Arkansas for the grandsons wedding in the end of April. I am Preaching next Sunday night and going to teach this Wednesday night bible study. The weather has been really nice so looking forward to getting some fishing in. What is new in your life?🤗
@A MyMyelomaTeam Member Although I am taking a good Vitamin E along with my other regimen of supplements, I have to be on anticoagulants due to an unprovoked DVT/Bilateral PE and AFib. I also have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
I had to switch from Eliquis to Warfarin, but after I had iron infusions and surgery to correct my GI bleeds, (in turn correcting my anemia) I was able to switch back to Eliquis.
If I could get by without taking them I would, but don't want to risk another bout with DVT/PE. My doctor said I was very lucky, and I hope to never go through that again.
