Has Anyone With Smoldering Myeloma Had Their Doctor Recommend B-Cell Reduction?
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

Medicare will only approve IVIG infusions if one has had or is undergoing a treatment for this or meets another criteria before approving IVIG infusions, but most Smoldering Myeloma patients undergo no treatments.

B Cell reduction is essentially chemo for Myeloma. But most docs don't want to do chemo for Smoldering.

Hi Donna, Medicare will only pay if one has had some kind of treatments already for Multiple Myeloma or their antibodies have responded in a certain way to vaccinations. Having Smoldering Myeloma, I have never had any treatments as my doctors and I agree that the side effects would be worse than any symptoms I've having. Most of the literature agrees. I'm just wondering if anyone with Smoldering on this site has had their doctor(s) recommend treatments and what they were.
