I had very low CD counts. I had to sit on a recliner for 6 hours. There was no WiFi so was extremely boring. I did take a book to read.

Hi Tammy, IVIG is given when our immunoglobulins are low to prevent infections. You will be premedicated with Benadryl and Tylenol. It's a think liquid given IV in the clinic. They have to run it slow. Shouldn't be too bad. It should help your immune system 😉

Ivig is the term you are looking for. My hubby has not had them but we know several who are grateful to have them.

I had no side effects from the Polygam, but did get another infection almost immediately. Praying the Polygam kicks in soon

I'm been getting IVIG for about 6 months. It's no big deal and has helped me stay healthy. They give me pepcid and Benadryl. Some people get an upset stomach so it's precautionary and the Benadryl helps with a possible allergic reaction. I find the hardest part to be sitting there for 2-3 hours. I've tried bringing a book to read but the Benadryl makes me sleepy. Last time, I requested no Benadryl and it was better.
Previous to IVIG, I was getting strep throat every 3-4 months and haven't had it since starting IVIG.
