Shelley,
One of my Oncologists recommended Alpha Lipoic Acid to prevent Neuropathy. Are you taking supplements? My Mom took Nutritional Yeast (Bob's Red Mill) and never got neuropathy. It's preventative also, even after you have it. You don't want it to get worse. I take mine with 5-8 oz of dairy or non-dairy, stir in 1 heaping tsp of Nutritional yeast and add 1/2 tsp or less of Unsulphered Blackstrap Molasses. The result is called "tiger's Milk". My Mom's Oncologist couldn't understand why my Mom's blood was in such good shape after so much chemo, until she found out what she was doing. Frankincense (do-terra is one brand) helps counter the side effects of chemo.

Hi Shelley,
That could be something else. My neuropathy is in the flesh of my feet, hands and sometimes thighs. Make sure you discuss this issue with your healthcare team. Bone structural pain can be something else. Let us know what you find out. Take care and keep in touch.

Hi Shelley,
Patients most commonly develop neuropathy as a side effect of Velcade injections during multiple myeloma treatment. Most times a large percentage of patients experience permanent peripheral neuropathy at some level in their hands and feet. You will find our experiences and solutions on MyMyelomaTeam , the resource article section , and with your oncology healthcare team. My solutions included kinesiology tape (see my page) applied on my feet, moisturizer, and I am starting acupuncture therapy to reduce the pain. I use B vitamins and Orthpedic shoes and socks sold by Orthofeet that are quite fashionable. See the resource article posted below. I hope you find a solution that fits your personal needs.

Shelley,
I take the Tiger's milk one time a day. My mom would take it over and over, with juice (no blackstrap) or with milk. It should give you some more energy.
