IgA is an Antibody. MM is defined by what type of antibody you have. IgG is the most common and next is IgA. My IgA number is 599.

Sally,
All is well with me. I did have terrible spasms at one time and now know to drink enough water. Since I have IgA and it’s the one type that causes kidney issues, I was curious about other people’s experiences and what helped.💕💕💕

Kidney numbers can fluctuate wildly when they have been compromised by myeloma. Physical activity can increase the waste products in your blood and require the kidneys to work harder. It is important to drink a lot of water especially when you exercise.

no I haven’t had Kidney problems but evey 6-7 month my blood shows I’m having kidney problems and my doctor makes me nervous. two weeks later I take same test and show absolutely normal. My doctor said it have to be a lab’s mistake or days prior I may have used to many tylenols because I bowl 2 days before my test and my back hurts like hell after for the next 2 days.

I had kidney issues and had to be admitted when diagnosed. I have IGg Lamda myeloma. My kidneys are at about 60%. Nephrologist isnt too concerned. Myeloma did do damage to my kidneys. I drink a lot of water …I feel ok. Still doing maintenance of bortezombib every 2 weeks .
I didn’t have any bone lesions, just kidney issue… Hope you are well
