Pomalyst
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

For those taking pomalyst do you have to have a prescription every month to get your prescription refilled?
I will be starting my 3 rd round and once again I have to get a prescription from the doctor before they will fill it. Plus I have to talk to the filling pharmacist before they will refill it.

Hi Cat, I set up an account with my speciality pharmacy. I go online and reorder my Pomalyst each month. I reorder it as soon as they send me a text message reminder. I always put down that I have 7 capsules left. So I get it filled on time. Our doctors have to send in a new order each month with a special code number. It's an FDA requirement. No way around it. Even though I reorder it online, I still have to talk to the pharmacist each month to complete the survey. To make us aware that Pomalyst causes birth defects and not to share or open the capsule etc. Very tedious. Anyway, the pharmacy calls when when my RX is ready to ship so I can complete the survey. I have to sign for it when it's delivered. I also have the complete the Celgene survey every 6 months. Again it's an FDA requirement. No way around it. Hope this helps 💕

Hi Cat, hope you are doing well.
I received it at home, but the doctor has to send in the prescription every month, sometimes the pharmacy would call him to get it renewed. Try to get it done on your last week on. God bless 🙌
