Yes. No maintenance therapy after a SCT is an option. My plan is to be on monthly Darzalex for 2 years, then decide what to do next. One option is to stop any maintenance therapy. Another is to see what new drugs or therapies will be available in 2 years. The technology is advancing so quickly that you don't make long term plans.
Hi, Mandy .
Am on darzalex only once every month for the past seven months. Now its going to be once every two months.
And it's working well with me.
Having blood thinner too.
Like HappyGirl, I am on just Darzalex Faspro for maintenance therapy. I have been on it for 6 months (including the ramp up phase) and have had zero issues and side effects. The treatment is to keep me in remission and prevent relapse. I have hear Darzalex is now being used in combination with RVD (Revlimid, Velcade, Dexamethasone) for induction therapy.
I think what I am discovering is, induction therapy is starting to turn into "throwing the kitchen sink" at the problem. That is, get as many drugs into your system that you can tolerate to eliminate the cancer cells (in different ways).
But, I have not hear of using Cortisone. You might be confusing Cortisone with corticosteroids (which is Dexamethasone) and Dex is used heavily in MM treatment. You can google it to find out what is does for MM treatment, etc.
Good luck with your treatment and let us know how it is going.
Thank you. How long have you been on this course of treatment, if you don’t mind me asking ?
I am on a monthly shot of Darzalex Faspro. Premed consists of Tylenol and prednisone Day before and morning of treatment.
