A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am curious if anyone is taking lyrica for back pain. I just started it. It is making me groggy but seems to helping with the back.

Lyrica has given me my life back. I suffered for months with terrible neuropathy pain, burning, pins and needles, in my feet, lower legs, and some in my hands. I could not bear to walk or stand for more than a few minutes. I literally could not bear to touch my feet. Gabapentin did not help. I was started at a low dose of lyrica to give my body time to adjust and avoid the groggy stage. Dosage was increased over a period of 6 wks. 25 mg 2x a day, then 50 mg, then 75 2x a day current dose. No groggyness, no dizzyness, etc. The improvement in my quality of life is wonderful after so much suffering. I have no obvious side effects.
I also take supportive supplements for nerve pain. A basic b complex and R-Lipoic Acid by Life Extension.

I took Lyrica when my neuropathy was painful - it was a game changer for sure and helped me sleep at night. ❤️ I am off it now as my neuropathy eased up. Hope it helps you! 🥰

I've been taking Lyrica/pregablin is the generic, for years. Way before I was diagnosed with MM. They just increased the dosage to 100 mg 3 times a day. I really don't get side effects to many drugs. It does help with the nerve pain though

My husband has had amazing results with Lyrica. Initially he was groggy but over time his body has adjusted. He is off all opioids and he was on a lot to control his pain. It does take a few weeks to really get good effect. My husband takes 200mg 3 times a day.
That works for him but every one is different of course.
