Calcium Supplements
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I just wanted to share with my MM team that I was getting a mild stomach ache daily in the afternoons and knew it was probably one of the supplements I took at noon. After a little research and getting the okay from my oncologist I switched from regular calcium to calcium citrate and no more stomach aches.πŸ‘ If anyone has this same issue see if you can change it did make a difference! Happy Holidays!

I have been taking Calcium Citrate supplements for many years prior to being diagnosed with MM. I have osteoporosis and was told told by my primary physician to take this supplement.
I have been fortunate in my journey with MM up to now, as I have very mild neuropathy or none.
I do exercise a minimum of 4 or 5 days a week.
I also take vitamin C and D3. I am currently in remission and pray for all of us for a cure.
Have a blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ„

Hi Emma, The calcium supplements are to make sure that I keep the proper level to keep my bones strong. Not because my levels are necessarily low but because it’s hard to eat enough of the right foods for maximum calcium every day. And MM weakens are bones causing fractures that many of us have gotten. Hope this helps. Happy Holidays!

I take "Citracal Maximum Plus" with Vit. D3 (630 of cal. and 1000IU of vit. D3). I don't know if they are the best to take, but they do not bother my stomach Also sometimes, Metamucil
