My Loved One Has Issues With Major And Quick Weight Gains And Losses - Likely Greatly Due To Water Retention.

Currently even when she looses weight, her over all trend is higher. She has a good, modest diet. These changes inhibit her physical activity. So she's in a bad cycle. What things do folks do to address this? Thank you!

The dexamethasone can cause quick weight gain and swelling and elevated blood sugar. Walking, eating a good diet with low fat protein lots of vegetables and fruits help. I'm trying sugar substitutes like monk fruit and stevia for baking. The dexamethasone also causes muscle wasting. So exercise is important. Your
loved one might benefit from a dietary and physical therapy consult. They are usually covered under insurance. Many of us are in the same situation. We know exercise is important, but these treatments cause so much fatigue. My doctor tells me to exercise 50 minutes 5 times a week. It's very hard to do. Sending hugs to you both 🥰💕
