Hi Marie,
A very difficult question without knowing anything about your specifics such as ; diagnosis, stage of multiple myeloma, your age, type of MM whether smoldering, MGUS, full multiple myeloma, your rated CRAB criteria, and so many other factors.
Your healthcare oncologist/hematologist, cancer center or multiple myeloma specialists can provide you with the information you are requesting. There are many treatments available for various multiple myeloma conditions. Multiple myeloma is treatable with options according to your condition. Patients side effects from treatment medications and multiple myeloma can vary considerably. There are resource articles here on MyMyelomaTeam to inform and educate patients with MM and their caregivers in various topics to help reduce stress of the unknown and improve discussions with their healthcare team. I added you to my team of MM fighters who share their stories, experiences and gladly offer their support. A positive attitude, faith , hope and belief that things will get better will help provide a more successful outcome and quality of life. Develop strategies to address symptoms of MM and medication side effects will also greatly improve quality of life.
A photo of a manual containing a summary of multiple myeloma information is available from the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Healthtree also has considerable information too. It can be overwhelming, similar to trying to drink from a firehose so please refer to your healthcare team regarding your personal factors.
I hope you get information soon to address your concerns,๐
Maree,
That was probably my first question. It seems that the hair falling out chemo is only when you get Stem Cell Transplants. (SCTโs) Most people will not know you have cancer.

If you have a stem cell transplant they use mephelan which will cause hair loss. This is the only one I am aware of.
Thank u for that!
Also, surprisingly most people seem to tolerate their medications and some still work. It depends. You wonโt know until you try. My cousin looks like a million bucks, but he struggled through SCT. He ran 8 miles a day before.
