Are You Allowed Visitors When You Have SCT? Can You Wear Your Own Gown Etc?Do They Always Put A Port In?

Carolyn, I didn't need a port. But Emory did put in a big trifusion line in my chest. It comes out after discharge. Some centers use PICC lines in the arm. My husband stayed with me and my son visited every day. Bring your own pajamas. The tops need to be loose enough so that the nurses can access your line. They actually encouraged me to get up, bathe dress and walk each day. Just like I would at home. Hoping you get a complete response to transplant and no complications. 🥰

Visitors yes. 2 at a time. Wear your own pajamas. PICC line will be inserted. And it’s a big help to avoid getting poked all the time.

Yes, I wore my own clothes and was allowed more than one visitor at a time. A PICC line was inserted under my left bicep. It prevents getting jabbed daily.
