Hi All!
I want to know if anyone has high blood sugars on dexamethasone and if so what are you taking for it? Are you taking insulin for it what kind or are you just monitoring what you eat? My sugar went up on my first treatment from 161-340. So I don't think that is healthy.

If your physician was managing your glucose before the Dexamethasone then I would contact that provider and let them know what is happening. It’s not that providers sets don’t want to do the right things, it is a matter that they ALL have to be informed and work as a team.

It will do that. I got Cushing’s syndrome from a high corticosteroid. Ask your doctor.

I have the same issue. My doctor increases my regular insulin on the day of treatment and the day after. Usually it takes about 24 hours to get out of my system. The doctor who treats your diabetes would know what's best for you. I am in my 4th year of treatment and do the above every time I take dexamethasone. Be careful about weight gain if they put you on or increase your insulin. I pray all goes well for you. Sending hugs.
