A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

When i saw my Oncologist last week I was shuffling instead of walking. It was so embarrassing. I’m only 65. I was an athlete.

Yeah giving up driving definitely takes away your independence but better than causing an accident and hurting or killing somebody.

My husband's gait changed significantly the past months. He would drag his feet and made him susceptible to many falls. We had pt come in to start working on it, but he became too weak. Lost a lot muscle mass. Walk as much as your body will let you.

My neuropathy has improved greatly after SCT...The challenge is that I started shuffling my feet some several years before MM. I have to consciously pick up my feet and also watch my balance...

Good Morning, Family!

I was also having leg and hip pain. It was literally a pain in the “butt” and along the sides of my legs. It hurt to walk, sit, lay on my side!

I sought help from a number of providers with no long-term relief.

I eventually went to see a sports medicine group, OrthoCarolina Sports Medicine Center in Charlotte, NC…that cares for the local NFL team (Carolina Panthers) and local college athletes.

The provider explained to me that the symptoms that I was experiencing could be treated in the same manner that he treats the professional athletes who had the same symptoms that I had.

Helped sooooo much! Praise God!
