Tammie I agree with Donna ask your Oncologist why they don’t think you need a BMT and don’t quit asking until you get an answer you understand and are happy with. They must think you need more time for your body too heal.
Good luck. I know my BMTs kicked the stuffing right out of me for quite some time and the high dose chemo is what knocks you down. The transplant itself is no big deal because they put your stem cells back into you through whatever way that you are getting chemo through.eg. port,Hickman Line or an IV in your arm.

Hey Tammie, I don't know all your comorbidities and complications you have had. I would think your doctor is taking all this in to account. You need a clear explanation of why you can't get a transplant. Were they unable to collect stem cells? Sending hugs and prayers. Love Donna 💕

I went to a Multiple Myeloma Foundation Conference, in March of this year. They showed a chart of patients who had the stem cell transplant and compared it with those who didn't, it showed lines that after a certain period of time they came together and it showed very little difference in results.

ask your Oncologist for an explanation and if you are not happy with results get a second opinion.

I’m in remission but I has been suggested I get a transplant. My body is still in recovery come double hip replacement so I’m not considering it now. I was told by my doc that even the harvest is hard on your body and so is the transplant ask for answers as to why
