Dr Hamza Hashmi in Charleston SC at Holings cancer Center is working with CAR T cell therapy. I dont know how close you live but he is wonderful. You should ask your DR for the MRD test. It will tell you how many myeloma cells are hiding that cannot be detected with blood test. Might be worth a try.
I was taken off all drugs after taking Revlimid for 12 years. Test showed -0- myeloma cells. (I had a bone marrow transplant in 2011 - revlimid ever since)
After the MRD negative test in April this year, Dr Hashmi stopped the revlimid. I am getting stronger everyday and feel better than the last 12 years.
I am happy to anwer any questions regarding this. Although there is still debate about if Myeloma can be cured,Dr Hashmi & I am proving that it can. I have to take test 2 more times - once per year before they can definitely say I AM CURED......But I am

My husband was in full remission following his SCT. Sadly this didn't last very long. Those ugly cancer cells showed up again. He went on Revlamed and chemo infusions and was feeling fine for a while. From Revlamed his Oncologist put him on Pomalyst with chemo. Eventually this medical cocktail stopped working too. We are now awaiting news regarding the Car t treatment. Sept 1 we will start a new journey. I will keep everyone in the loop.
