This is the second attempt at collection. He had an infusion of cytoxan on 8/27 followed by 8 daily injections of Neupogen. His white cell count was way up and then tanked on Friday 9/3. They could not explain why. Today we were told that was expected and his count was 2.5 but they will not even try to get a CD34 count until WBC is at least 3.0. Back tomorrow for more blood work. He is really starting to become discouraged.

Sharon, That does happen. Did you do the shots to bring the Stem Cell out from the bone into the blood stream? It takes a week of shots every day. They may wait awhile and try it again or sometimes it takes a couple of days to get enough. Don’t give up. NEGU - Never Ever Give Up!
