I had a tumor on my left side ribs which responded to radiation and medication. On occasion my shoulder does hurt but that maybe more arthritis then anything else.

Hi Brenda, When I was diagnosed I had pain in my right collarbone, my whole chest hurt because I had pneumonia and fractured my right collar bone, 3 ribs and cracked my sternum from coughing when I also had Stage 3 Myeloma with 90% Myeloma Cells and my Kidneys were shutting down. I was a very sick girl. Because I was not moving and nothing was displaced I didn’t need a brace, they just wrapped my ribs and got my Myeloma, Pneumonia and Kidneys under control. I was a very sick girl and was in the hospital for over a month. Actually, I was transferred from a community hospital that I worked at to City of Hope (a hospital that dealt with only cancer.). I don’t remember much about that time.
I would definitely get an X-ray, it may be fractured but it may be a lytic lesion on that bone. It is better to be checked out. I probably had lesions on my ribs and collar bones that made them weak and break with coughing.
