Covid Vaccine And My Low Blood Counts, WBC, RBC , PLATELETS And Hemoglobin Were All Too Low.
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

II was advised against having the Covid vaccine because my blood counts, WBC, RBC , PLATELETS and Hemoglobin were all too low. I was diagnosed in November with MM and started on Revlimid in February

I am doing better with the Revlimid (25mg) now. My first month on it (February) I was nauseated and had trouble swallowing. I also lost my appetite. My oncologist reduced my prescription from 21 days on followed by 7 days off to 7 days on then 7 days off. I haven't had any problems since.
I know it is poison but if it kills cancer I can take it. My doctor also suggested taking Omeprozole twice a day if needed instead of once a day.
Almost everyone on this MM site has been treated with Revlimid. Even most patients in remission take 10mg per day for maintenance to prevent a relapse.
I have been pain free for over two months now and my MM numbers have gone down over 90% so I believe it is working.

My wife has been on Revlimid for 3 35 day cycles (21 days on 14 days off). She began with 10 mg and during second cycle her platelets dropped to 48. Her Oncologist took her off for a week and they rebounded. The oncologist reduced the Revlimid to 5 mg but the same things happened in the third cycle. However they recovered on their own. Mow starting fourth cycle. Overall she is doing well almost in remission. RBC also was low but has improved. Diet can help improve platelets. Do a google search on how to improve platelet count.
Prayers and blessings, FrJoel

That may help taking Revlimid every other day. I take 25 mg for 7 days and then skip 7 days..I have some reflux, loss of appetite, and anemia but my cancer numbers are improving so well that I don't want to change anything. I'll put up with the side effects as long as I am approaching my goal of remission.

I really feel encouraged through everyone’s response to Revlimid. Lets continue to encourage each other, because you all answers have been beneficial, especially to me. let each of us continue to fight the enemy, of our health through the Most High God, not giving in to the enemy and not taking his mess. I’m anchored down to the Most High God my healer, . through Faith, and medicine, working hand in hand. I also pray, for my oncologist, that God will keep giving him wisdom, and knowledge, pertaining to the healing of my health. Love you all xoxo.
