Choosing Cancer Center
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I have smouldering myeloma and am having trouble deciding between being a patient at Emory Winship Cancer Institute OR Cancer Treatment Centers of America??? I am looking primary for Integrative medical treatment.
Can anyone offer any insight into making this decision?

Hi Mary Amelia, I think I would honestly not be here without Winship. Please keep me posted on your progress. I am adding you to my team. This new format on this site is confusing me a little

I believe that Cancer Treatment Centers of America is a for-profit system. That by itself would cause me to choose Emory Winship Cancer Institute.

Mary Amelia, I go to Winship. I had my transplant at Emory. They are first rate. I have high risk aggressive myeloma and am doing well. Dr. Lonial, or Jonathan Kaufman are the best. I see Nooka, he is good, I love him, but not as sweet as Kaufman. Lonial is the head of the department. They have seven myeloma Specialists!. Emory does clinical trials and is NCI recognized. Hope this helps. I go to Georgia cancer Specialists for my monthly treatments

Mary, I only know about Emory Winship and I know it is an excellent facility! I do not know much about the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, other than their TV Commercials. There are several people on this site that go to Emory Winship that really like it and I know the MM Specialists are great. I have heard talks given by some of the MM Specialist there that were very good. Love ove, Marcia 🌼🌸🌻
