How long a length of time does a person stay on Revlimid
My oncologist told me that there is some debate among doctors as to whether to keep the patient on Revlimid indefinitely or to stop the drug once the cancer is in remission. I'm hoping for the latter, of course. hehe
I am on a 10mg maintenance dose. I believe I stay on this to either one of two things happen: 1) my body has a difficult time with the drug, or 2) it stops being effective and I need a different protocol.
Well I have never asked my oncologist, I did ask my Nurse she is the Bomb I worked in Major hospitals for 27 years and place much stock in what Nurses tell you. They usually keep the Dr. out of trouble, she has been a oncology nurse for 10 years , and she told me usually when you go into remission they cut back on revlemid and keep you on a maintenance dose for a very long time also I will be on zometta for a long time but they develop better drugs all of the time and have major break-throughs. Well Prayers to all my Brother and Sisters who are in the same boat as me God Bless.
My oncologist stopped my Revlimid when I went into remission. That has been for 8 months now.

I started taking Revlimid when it was approved by the FDA in 2003, switching from thalidomide. I took it until it quit working and I experienced light chain escape about 2015.
