Mouth Sores
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

So I have these sores on my lower gums on the bone. They aren't open but they hurt. It's hard to eat. I'm not sure if this is a MM thing. A medicine thing or just a Colleen thing. So because everyone is so helpful here I'll ask if anyone has had this. It's more feels like a scratch or a bone pain they're not opened but it hurts

I’ve not experienced that with m/m. Have you been eating more acidic foods these days? Tomatoes (actually foods that are tomato based as well, oranges, orange juice, anything citrusy..Use a soft bristled Toothbrush during brushing..gently Also warm salt water or diluted hydrogen peroxide helps...or could you put in a call to your oncologist’s nurse? They may want to send you to your dentist to look over. Hugs/prayers for quick healing!💖💖

I could feel something on the inside of my lower right jaw. It was somewhat sore and when I went to the dentist I was told it was exposed jaw bone and I needed to see an oral surgeon. My appt was postponed 3 times but found out it is healing. My ONC immediately said no more Xgeva. I don’t know if that info is helpful but was my experience.

Scabby1957 I am seeing him on Monday. It is getting better so I think I just scratched some how way down like under bone. But thank you. When ever I get a little cut it coukd take a month or so to heal. So this being in my mouth I'm thinking it is going to take a lot longer. But thank you

I hope you see a dentist Colleen! That's the best way to find out for sure. I would hate to see you with osteonecrosis. My daughter in law has it and she has gone thru hell.
