M Spike
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

Just had my bloodwork. Consistent with previous bloodwork. I don’t see the oncologist till the end of the month but one test in big letter said no m spike detected. Does that mean I’m still in remission

A MyMyelomaTeam Member

Wow, eye-opener. My M is always undetectable. I'll check my very first test to see if the m spike showed up then. My bmb was barely enough to test but they decided I had MM anyway;by way of blood and… read more

How Do Those Go Of You Receiving Chemo Through Injections Handle It?
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I get three shots per week, two in stomach and one in upper thigh. Finding going though them harder each time we arrive. The thigh injection very painful and slow. Only in my first cycle, can’t imagine all that are yet to come. Feeling bad cause I know all of you are going thru the same or perhaps much worse. Maybe just need to express myself. Trying to keep the end goal in mind. Thanks in advance cause I know the support will follow. ☮️ and ❄️ from Minnesota.

MSpike-how Low Is Low Enough?
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been in induction (different concoctions) since March. My numbers have been moving down but ever so slowly. My specialist thinks I should move forward with stem cell transplant rather than continue punishing treatment to beat mspike down. He feels we can do more treatment after transplant if necessary My M Spike is now 1.3. I have a bone marrow biopsy scheduled for 18 Jan. Does anyone have experience with transplant at or above 1.3? I know everyone is different, but still helpful to… read more

I Am On No Treatments For MM However I Have Lab Tests Done Every 6 To 8 Weeks. If My Hemoglobin Level Is Below 7 My Primary Care Dr Orders
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

He orders transfusions. Usually when I go for the tests it is at 6.1 to 5.5 and I am super weak plus needing oxygen to function. I do not have an oncologist, he dismissed me as untreatable. Is there anyone else on here who is going this route?? How many times can I have trasfusions??
