My joints ache constantly. If I can do any light exercises, my joints ache less
Unfortunately, after my SCT in Dec 2022, the MM has relapsed. It only took 10 months before it started to show up in blood tests. I had a bone marrow biopsy and the plasma cell percentage has now doubled from the value when I was initially diagnosed. So I'm curious to know if others have relapsed after a SCT and what was the next method of treatment used
We are looking to get me on Car-T cell therapy, but I do not yet qualify based on the number of refractory treatments (drugs that did not… read more

Just want to know how long your number stay down without SCT. Is it months or years?
Sorry to say but I can’t remember what I was thinking of - that was in July. I might have been thinking about the article- “What is Minimum Residual Disease Testing”. It covers the history and the… read more

Ron's had 6 of 8 weekly 4+ hour Darzalex infusions. Hearing about the faspro injection, we're wondering now why his oncologist chose the infusion route. We'll be asking about his reasoning at the next appointment, but interested in getting team input meanwhile.
Thanks Donna. He didn't mention how it was administered, so I'll ask him. It seemed to go well, and he was sure glad to be home sooner!
Is anyone else disillusioned about the qualifying factors leading to getting ABECMA therapy? My oncologist recommends that I get the therapy. He contacted the top doctor at Siteman Cancer ctr here in st louis, missouri. He was sent all my records and it was determined that my multiple myeloma is being at a stalemate (kept from getting worse or better) by infusions of Impliciti and pomylidimide(25 days/30). So I'm doing good according to this other doctor. I have to get much worse before I'm… read more
So true
My blood test 3 months after my stem cell transplant has a high light chain number compared to normal people. A 36 as compared to my high over 2000 when diagnosed but higher than when I harvested the stem cells. The results from the bone biopsy won’t be back until next week.
Is this light chain number normal after SCT?
I meet with my oncologist next week to get his answers and our plan of action.
I am learning a lot from this . I didn’t even know there are different types of myeloma cause when I asked my oncologist he just told me multiple myeloma. Good thing it was caught early because I had… read more
