Is Kidney Disease A Common Side Effect Of The Myeloma Drugs?
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I found out by accident that my doctors notes show me as having stage 3 kidney disease! No one ever mentioned this, and when I asked about it my doctor seemed to think it was no big deal!

Huh. I seriously suggest you get an MM Specialist. I have a regular hematologist/oncologist that I see monthly, but I see a specialist every three months or so because they ONLY do MM and they know so much more. Kidney disease with MM is not common, but it is a big deal. Question your doctor, if they poo-poo you, get a new doctor or get a specialist in addition to your doctor.

One of my first specialists was a nephrologist and I was diagnosed with Stage 3. Sent to hematologist oncologist and was diagnosed with amyloidosis and multiple myeloma.
