Our daughter has an appointment there next week and they said come to stay 2 or 3 days, but the weekend will be in the middle of that time. Curious how other people manage their stays there.
They agreed with the oncologist in Fort Worth on diagnosis and initial treatment. However, they ran a few more lab tests (some new and some repeated) and scheduled a marrow aspiration to determine the extent of mutations. They said it was important to get it as soon as possible, and he really looked shocked when he found it hadn't already been done. We'll go back next Friday for that. My daughter will probably continue to get her chemo close to home, but is leaning toward having the transplant in Houston. Lab results were in before we got back home -- big difference in wait time compared to Fort Worth. We all felt much better about her situation after that visit. The team assigned to her was wonderful.
We are scheduled early January for a second opinion. Anxious to hear what they have to say.
