With multiple myeloma I would like to know can you still work a job?
I know we run the risk of our immune system being compromised. We also run the risk of infections and fractures.
Yes, it is. I was actually a Wound Care nurse specialist when I got diagnosed. I took early retirement. I actually applied for SSDI. I got it right away. I was very sick at diagnosis though. My immunoglobulins are very low. It would be hard not to get sick around all those little kids. I love kids, but they do seem to carry a lot of different viruses and things, not to mention Covid.
A lot of people who have MM still work. It depends on what type of work you do and how you are feeling. Talk to your oncologist about it. Good luck.
There is an assistant principal on here. She works full time, runs each day, practices martial arts and takes care of her mom. Several people work from home. 💪
I know of an 80 year old woman who had ovarian and breast cancer who worked everyday. She took Do-Terra’s Frankincense complex. She was taking lots of chemo for years. I’m not trying to sell this brand. She ran a Catholic book store. Lots of praying too!
Many on this site still manage to hold a job. I have the greatest respect for them.
