Working After Transplant
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

My sister is almost 2 months post stem cell transplant and is finally getting some strength and an appetite back!
She is concerned about eventually going back to work with Covid cases still happening. Anyone post transplant back to work yet? Thanks for any info.

Stephon, I did it all online. I filled everything out. My doctor signed that I couldn't work for a year because I needed a transplant and my labs were pretty bad. I faxed all my medical records since diagnosis in. Myeloma qualifies you especially if you need a transplant. I was 57 and had worked since 1976. So that probably helped too. Good luck πŸ€žπŸ‘πŸ™πŸ’œπŸ’—

Yes, and continue to work two years after undergoing the transplant.

I just went back to work two weeks ago after having my transplant end of July. I am totally virtual though. Please have her take it slow. The tiredness sneaks up on you after the initial energy wears off. Also breaks in the day are helpful

Slmsksh, Hi Tw months is very early to be out in public after a transplant. Have her check with her doctors before doing anything. She hasn’t even had her childhood injections, flu vaccine or COVID19 vaccines. She won’t get that until Day 100. She is very vulnerable at this time because she has no immunities. It is really risky. Praying πŸ™ for her. Have a good day! Love, Marcia 🌼🌸🌻
