tried to swing a golf club gently last week....twice.....and the next day his neck and back were tight and stiff for almost a week, we're assuming golf is out for him....wondered if anyone else has tight feeling muscles, tendons....he stretches but maybe not enough....wondered if taking fish oil would help.....maybe not much one can do....he's on 5 mg revlimid every day (maintenance) - thanks for any info.....
Looking at everyone’s replies I failed to mention that I have muscle cramps and physical activity really helps. The less active, the more cramps especially in the morning. A hot shower and steady movement alleviates my cramps.
Massage therapy helps too.
Don’t try to kill the golf ball and practice some round swings at home. A small bucket of golf balls a a driving range may be worth a try?
I golf. I’ve asked 3 Dr’s if I could and 2 said it’s ok and one said I should not be golfing. The Dr’s that said it’s ok told me that lifting heavy things is what I should not do, swing easy and don’t use the driver.
Have you looked into physical therapy. Your oncologist may be able to give you a referral. I was on PT for 6 months to gain balance and mild exercise to loosen my muscles. Just thinking it would be a shame to lose something you enjoy.
I have been working on diet and meds to address my diarrhea, almost gone ,and periodically get a cramp in my neck that is just awful. I mentioned cramps in my leg and neck so the nurse had check on my leg for blood clot, but not my neck. I am on 15 mg Revlimid 21 days/ month for maintenance in remission . The symptoms have come and gone while I was on RV treatments. I thought the gabapentin was the issue , even my low dose. It is hard to correlate symptoms that come and go. Diet and exercise seem to be the only things that help.I have to keep adjusting diet every time my digestive system goes out of control, Otherwise I would have a pharmacy in my house. The more meds I take as a cocktail the more difficulty managing my symptoms.
HealthTree has a solutions section that has some ideas. There are many new articles here too to check out for ideas. MyMyelomaTeam has really added a lot recently so I have to check them out.
