I Wanted To Know If Anyone Can Point Me In The Right Direction For Financial Support?
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I work full time and have insurance, but the co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles are killing me. Every time I turn around I am getting hit with another bill from the hospital for a scan or treatments and the ongoing co-pays for the doctor appointments. I am going to leave my family homeless if I don't find relief soon.

Ask for “Medical Financial Assistance with Special Circumstances” (your cancer) from the clinic where you get your cancer treatments, it will pay for everything and when you include the Special Circumstance as we did at Kaiser there is no income qualifications.

Hi Kimberly, What ever your medication - check with the company that makes it such as Celgene makes Revlimid, many of these companies have financial aid programs to help you pay for them.
LLS ( also does Myeloma) gives grants to pay for insurance premiums, deductibles, co pays, and medications for Medications that treat/ for Myeloma. Pain meds are covered if pain resulting from Myeloma.
The American Cancer Society can also help with transportation/lodging if you have to seek help with getting treatment away from home. They also will be able to direct you to other programs that can help you financially.
You can apply for social security disability too.

Hope this information helps - there are programs out there to help you. Your hospital may be able to direct you to these financial programs. Love, Marcia🌸

I applied for disability and was able to start Medicare. Now I have private insurance and Medicare. It helps. Not sure what will happen when hubby retires😏. Celgene also has a grant to help payfor Revlimid and Pomalyst

Ask your oncologist if they have a social worker on staff or that they work with. They can often help you find financial support. Another avenue to try is the company that makes the medication that you're taking. Try googling the name of your medication for information. The website Myeloma Crowd by Health Tree might also have information. Praying that your needs will be met!
