On first cycle of VRD. First Velcade injection went well. Alittle redness that went away in two days. My second injection caused brusing and a rash
I did some research and their is a bubble technique that is recommended for the syringe. This is suppose to lessen any injection site swelling. We tried it today. So far so good! I was surprised that the nurses were not aware of this technique

I did Velcade injections for 3 months and no one at the oncology center knew about the bubble technique I guess. The only thing that happened to me was deep bruising. We'd switch arms each time. I got my injections on Mondays and Thursdays. The gals all knew to inject it slowly so there was no "burning" or pain at the time of the injection. Just bruising afterwards.
My nurses knew about and told me about it. It caused me to have no pain putting it in too.
Took Velcade for a year. Never had such a reaction.
Yes. Several times. The bubble technique is correct. I did it for the nurse yesterday and no problem. Just pull up some skin or fat if you have it and have her give the injection there. Last week same nurse just injected straight in a caused a big hematoma that is still there. I showed it to her yesterday.
They just add 2 or 3 mm of air into the syringe to help it distribute under the skin. My nurses were great, but I still got red and blue places. They also put ice on my belly first while the pharmacy was mixing it. That helped the sting. 😍The great news if got my numbers down
