Chemo And BP.
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’ve been in BP meds for the past 20 years. I’ve recently started taking revlimed, Ninlaro and Dex for recently diagnosed MM. has anyone else had their Blood pressure affected by these meds. My pressure goes down so low that I get dizzy and feel awful.

I was on BP meds for a couple of years before starting my Myeloma treatment regimen. The meds have lowered my BP do hover around 117 - 125. I quit taking the BP meds when I began taking the VRD meds, as my oncologist knew that my BP would be coming down from these meds. When I come off of the Revlimd, after the 21 days on it, my BP begins to rise.

For the fatigue, it is most likely due to the anemia from low red blood counts. I get 2 IVs per week with vitamin B1, B2, B3, . B5, B6, and B12 along with other micronutrients. I get these at a wellness center that specializes in cancer treatment countermeasures. I also excersise every day. I know that this seems counterintuitive but movement will actually make you feel better.

I also had been on BP meds for 20+ years. My BP dropped so low that they discontinued my BP meds. It is now under control without the meds.

My blood pressure has dropped too. I was just diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and started BiPap treatment a coupe weeks ago and my blood pressure started dropping and i felt the same way. They reduced it last week and I’m feeling better too.

My blood pressure had been running a little high and now is usually well within normal ranges. I didn't know that was a side effect of the medications, but in my case it is working in my favor. It still goes up when I'm really painful.
